Senior Network Security Engineer – Baltimore, Maryland:
Job specifications:
- Provide an engineering resource to support data communications and related applications requirements
- Complete work assignments in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- ,Troubleshoot TCP/IP using wire share, Infinistream sniffer, and other packet analyzers
- Review and recommend the implementation of network management and monitoring tools
- Participate in on-call rotation
- Support Network Management tools (Ciscoworks, Solar Winds)
- Understand and integrate state-of-the-art hardware and software components associated with LAN/WAN architectures
- Support network redesign and network infrastructure upgrades
- Provide administrative support of installed systems/networks: assigning and controlling addresses, revising system configurations
- Complete Visio Network application flow diagrams
- Use Opnet ACE to troubleshoot application performance issues
Qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Current CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) Certification
- Verifiable references
- Strong Internet Protocol (IP) experience, including the monitoring and management of IP networks
- Detailed knowledge of networking technologies (TCIP, Routing, Switching, Load Balancing, VPN / MPLS, etc.)
- Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Network certifications (CCDA, CCNP, CCIE, CCDP, CCSP)
- Opnet IT Guru, Opnet VNE server, IT Sentinel
- NetScout (formally Network General) Infinistream
Cisco PIX firewalls, Nokia Checkpoint firewalls
